Herb, Are revivals and classics rolled out as risk mitigation? Personally, I would enjoy more diversity of voices in theatre but how bankable is it for venues facing shrinking audiences? Asking returning patrons to make that leap may be just as tough as trying to attract younger audiences to live theatre.
Certainly...I'm suggesting that's the case. Patrons can make the leap if theatre leaders exercise the courage to inform, educate, and demonstrate value.
